Live – It’s The Best

Recently I was able to go see someone I’ve known a long time, perform live on a big stage.

It really got me thinking about a lot of things. Including just how great a live performance is! If you haven’t been to a live event recently, I encourage you to go!

I got to thinking about just how far he’s come. The difficult things he’s overcome.

But now it’s incredible how success has entered his life. This success isn’t what he was first aiming for either. His path has diverged.

But success can cover up the struggles that were conquered and all of the work that has been put in. At least on the surface. I am sure he would be the first person to tell you that if he could.

So many people will only see the success he has achieved and nothing else. Not see the full picture.

So what does that mean for you and for me?

So many things friend, so many things.

Even though you and I may not make it to the stage on a national tour, success can be achieved.

But success looks so very different for each one of us.

We cannot sit on our hands and just say may many good things happen to me while I wait.

Oh no, that won’t do. That won’t do at all.

So thinking about this really challenged me to work through what changes I needed to make.

I can tell you that I haven’t been sitting on my hands, but I know I haven’t been doing all that I could be doing. I need poking and prodding just like anyone else does.

I recently was able to reconnect with another friend who achieved a different kind of success at a relatively young age. He’s gotten to the point where he can come and go with so much freedom and make different decisions now that he’s accomplished something big.

But that doesn’t take away from all of the effort he put in for years behind the scenes that most have never seen. There were also some great difficulties I know he has gone through. I know I only know a small part of his story but looking at the successful position he is in today is a blessing.

It was such a blessing to see God’s hand in the life of my friends. And so many other people in my life even if they never perform on a stage in front of thousands. I can guarantee that neither one of them sat on their hands and waited. So much went in to the success of today.

So friend, what success are you reaching for, even if it isn’t performing live on stage? Maybe you are in the midst of working towards that success but feel bogged down by difficulties. Friend, I will pray for you as you continue to walk towards the success, big or small, you aim for. Move forward with faith, patience and wisdom.
