Gratitude – Writing it Down

Writing things down is so effective. Right? Do you agree?

Being grateful is also effective. Right? Do you agree?

What about writing down what you are grateful for?

What about creating a gratitude journal? Aagghh journaling. I can hear you groaning. Yes, you. Groaning. Don’t worry I groaned too.

Journaling is one thing I have always struggled with. Always. I start out strong but quickly fall off the path and consistency of doing it.

What about if we start together?

We can start out the day by writing down the things we are grateful for or we can close out the day with writing down what we find gratitude for.

I’m committed to doing it. Not just for anther New Years resolution, but for so many other reasons.

What about you? Are you willing to join me?

I am excited about the New Year. What about you?

  1. After a number of years of recording items for which I was thankful in fits and starts, last year I committed to Ann Voskamp’s “Joy Dare”. It challenges you to find (and write down) three things for which you’re thankful each day and provides prompts to help you along. It might be three of the same gift “i.e. three gifts heard” or three different things. Today it’s “gifts old, new, blue”. It’s -30C this afternoon and I just got in from shoveling 4″ of snow off the driveway, but I’m reminded to be thankful for the bright blue sky out there!
